Even when detected, successful convictions have to demonstrate the truthfulness of the evidence that is presented. Can the Criminal Chain of Custody be maintained in a “Deep Fake” world of digital manipulation and complex distortions of the truth, and can we avoid lengthy court cases centred around proving the legal admissibility of the evidence.
