The BIG NIGHT OF TECH was a virtual event organised as part of the tenth edition of Science in the City, a popular science event held yearly in Malta.

Dr Christian Colombo from the University of Malta delivered a talk entitled "Cybersecurity Challenges: What are researchers doing to help?", giving an overview of the cybercrime challenges currently being explored by researchers at the Faculty of ICT. Among them, the threat of messaging hijack attacks on smartphones was explained, along with a high-level overview of how this is being addressed by ongoing research. Promising research results underpin a mobile forensics tool which forms part of LOCARD's investigator toolkit. This presentation is available at
