The Study Department Policing is located in Fürstenfeldbruck and in Sulzbach Rosenberg. The main aim to train about 800 students a year for a career in the professional and executive level of the Bavarian Police Service.
The University of Applied Sciences for Public Service in Bavaria – Department Police (BayHfoeD) is teaching the future police officers in two main fields of expertise:
- Law / Jurisprudence
Intervention law, national – and constitutional law, criminal law, civil law, traffic law, law of the public service, law of proceedings, budget law
- Police Management
Criminalistics, criminology, traffic management on tactical and strategic levels, police operations including e.g. crisis management, crowd management, sociology, psychology, political science, communication and conflict management, information- and communication techniques
The BayHfoeD is working in close cooperation with the Bavarian ministry of the interior and the police stations in Bavaria. BayHfoeD established close relations to the police academies in Bulgaria, Romania, Czech Republic and Poland. Since 2012, the Department of Policing is participating in national and international research projects with a focus on: Counter-Radicalisation, Cybersecurity Policing & Training.
